Building Community Through Food: Our Day with Q2

At Good Work Austin, we believe that strong communities are built through meaningful connections, shared experiences, and a deep commitment to supporting local workers and businesses. Our recent volunteer day with Q2 brought all of those elements together in a powerful way.

A highlight of the day was featuring food from our incredible Good Work Austin members, businesses that are deeply committed to supporting their workers and creating quality jobs in our community. Employees enjoyed dishes from Chi'lantro BBQ, Bambino, and Casey's New Orleans Snowballs. Each business reflected the creativity, culture, and care that defines Austin’s local food scene, and created a meaningful connection between Q2 employees and the food workers they are helping to support.

We also had the opportunity to share more about Good Work Austin’s mission to support and uplift Austin’s food and beverage workers and businesses, and how that work directly impacts our community.

The day also served as an opportunity to deepen our partnership with Q2. We are grateful for their ongoing support of Good Work Austin and our local food community. As a past recipient of Q2’s Q-mmunity Gives grant program, we have seen firsthand how their investment helps expand programs like our Culinary Workforce Training, which supports individuals facing barriers to employment in securing living-wage careers in the food industry.

Experiences like this show how partnerships can extend beyond funding. When teams show up, engage, and connect with our mission, it strengthens the entire ecosystem that supports Austin’s food workers and small businesses.

We are incredibly thankful to the Q2 team for their time, energy, and continued commitment to our community.

Q2’s mission is to build strong and diverse communities by strengthening their financial institutions. To learn more about Q2, visit https://www.q2.com/.
